The aim

The aim of this project is to preserve the memory of those men from Haughley who fought in the Great War whilst creating a better understanding of their sacrifice and the history behind their name.

29 soldiers never returned

The memorial surrounded by wreaths

From the ages of 18 to 38, from all walks of life, school teacher to grocer’s assistant and 1 military cross awarded Haughley Parish certainly done her part.

If you have a photo of a family member who is named on the memorial or any information on them please contact us here.

At present the soldiers from the Great War have only been researched and as such we shall research World War Two soldiers shortly.
